Ladarius Green released by Steelers after failed physical and lingering injuries

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released tight end Ladarius Green after he failed a physical. The tight end has battled injuries since signing with the team in 2016.

Green told reporters during the preseason, The ankle’s still not 100 percent yet. I’m pushing for it. It’s getting better.

He also missed the final five games of the season with a concussion, which was alarming since he had similar issues dating back to his time with the Chargers.

The Oakland Raiders picked McClain in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft, but he was waived in 2013 after several off-field incidents — including an arrest in 2011 for third degree assault and a two-game suspension in 2012 for conduct detrimental to the team.

According to Lacy’s agents, SportsTrust Advisors, there’s a hefty check coming Lacy’s way.

There are monthly weigh-ins scheduled for Lacy, and each one will carry a $55,000 bonus if he hits the target weight for each one. The Seahawks want Lacy to be down to 250 pounds in July and August. By the time the season rolls around, the team wants Lacy to maintain his weight at 245 pounds from September through December.

Kaepernick’s social activism, and specifically his decision to not stand for the national anthem last season, is a likely reason that teams are avoiding him. Kaepernick has said he will stand for the anthem this season, but he still isn’t signed.
