The 2018 NFL Draft is days away and there are plenty of rumors floating around ahead of Thursday’s first round. Friday it was reported Georgia running back Sony Michel could be the second ball carrier off the board. But according to The Ringer and NFL Network there are some concerns with the wear and tear on Michel’s body. There’s a lot of teams telling me there’s a medical concern here, so he could slip a little bit, said The Ringer’s Mike Lombardi, formally an NFL executive. His medical grade is a little iffy. Michel split time in a backfield with Nick Chubb at Georgia, amassing 3,613 yards and 33 touchdowns in four seasons. He hurt his knee in the SEC championship this past season but was able to play in the College Football Playoff. He’s suffered previous ankle injuries, a fractured forearm in 2016 and reconstructive knee surgery in high school, according to NFL Network. Despite the injuries, Michel missed just two games over the past three seasons.
